Welcome to Tama-Toledo, Iowa – near the heart of central Iowa.  Our unique community is full of tradition and diversity.  Small town living in rural Iowa, yet centrally located making it easy to enjoy big city opportunities.  Our business culture is anchored by Pioneer Hi-Bred and Tama Paperboard along with three medical centers and two care centers.  South Tama County Schools are also located in the Tama-Toledo community and serve Tama, Toledo, Chelsea , Montour, Vining and the Meskwaki Nation. 

What can we offer you?  Bike trails, historic downtowns, two city parks and a scenic byway.  A 9-hole golf course, aquatic center and an ATV park are other entertainment venues in the community.  The scenic Lincoln Highway runs through the area.

Toledo, the Tama County seat, is home to the Tama County Courthouse which includes both state and county offices.  The Tama County museum and genealogical library is also located near the Courthouse.

And we can offer your business a great location in a small community, at the crossroads of Highway 63 and Highway 30.   Tama-Toledo is an hour or less from the 3 of Iowa’s metropolitan centers:  Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and  Waterloo/Cedar Falls.

Area Spotlight

ATV Park - Over 200 acres of riding area is located along the Scenic Iowa River, including over 15 miles of trails and a motocross track. Entrance to the trails and camping area are to the North and East of the Iowa River Bridge. Club S.P.O.R.T. Tama, Club Sport Iowa

Stop and view the Cow/Calf statue, designed by Toledo Native, "Butter Cow Lady, Duffy Lyon" at the NW corner of Hwy 63/30.

Visit the Wieting Theatre which is on the National Historical Register.  $2.00 movies most Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Website

Tama-Toledo is located along the famous Lincoln Highway, and has the only original Lincoln Highway Bridge, located on 5th Street, just off Highway 30 in Tama.
